नोएडा  सुपरटेक के ट्विन टावर यानी एपेक्स और सियान टावर (Apex and Cyan Towers) के ध्वस्त होते ही धूल का गुबार उठेगा। इससे वायु प्रदूषण (Air Pollution) पांच गुना तक बढ़ सकता है। इसके कारण अगले 7 से 90 दिनों तक लोगों को स्वास्थ्य संबंधी परेशानी का सामना करना पड़ेगा। बीती घटना से ले सकते है सीख केरल के कोच्चि और मराडु में जनवरी 2020 में चार टावर होली फेथ एच 20, अल्फा सिरीन, जैन कोरल कोव व गोल्डन कायलओरम के ध्वस्तीकरण के बाद आसपास के लोगों को महीनों तक स्वास्थ्य संबंधी परेशानियां हुई थीं। इसमें सिरदर्द, अस्थमा, अटैक, जुकाम, कफ और एलर्जी के कारण लोग कई सप्ताह तक परेशान रहे थे। चारों टावर गिरने से 75 हजार टन का मलबा निकला था। इसे हटाने के लिए 70 दिनों से अधिक का समय लगा था। टावर ध्वस्तीकरण के बाद वातावरण में वायु प्रदूषण पांच गुना तक बढ़ गया था। इसके कारण आसपास के लोगों का स्वास्थ्य खराब हो रहा था। इस दौरान प्रशासन को स्वास्थ्य शिविर लगाना पड़ा था। टावर ध्वस्तीकरण के बाद आसपास के घर, पेड़, दीवार, पार्क सहित खाली जगह पर धूल जम गई थी। हल्की हवा चलने पर भी लोगों के घरों में धूल घुस जाती थी। ...

World tobacco day New Delhi (India Science Wire): World No Tobacco Day is observed on May 31 every year since 1987. This year, the World health organization's (WHO) theme for the Day is "Tobacco: Threat to our environment." This drive aims to create awareness among the public on the detrimental impact of tobacco cultivation, production, distribution, and waste on the environment, besides human health.  According to WHO, about 3.5 million hectares of land are cleared for growing Tobacco each year. It causes deforestation mainly in the developing nations. Tobacco cultivation results in soil degradation, making it infertile to support the growth of other crops or vegetation.
